BEFORE USING YOUR REVOLVER
This
revolver has been treated with protective
oils before
leaving the
factory and must be thoroughly cleaned before use.
Wipe all exterior surfaces with
a clean
soft cloth
to remove excess
oil.
Swing the cylinder out of the frame by pulling the ejector rod (located
under the barrel) forward and with finger pressure,' push the cylinder to
the left and out of the frame.
Using
a cleaning
rod and patches of the proper size for your revolver,
push the patches through the bore, starting at the muzzle
end, untilthe
patches come
out clean. Clean each chamber of the cylinder
in the same
manner, starting at the breech end. If the revolver
is to be slored priorto
using,
a smanamount
of gun oil should be placed
on a patch and passed
through the bore and chambers. Be sure to clean again before use.
Return the cylinder into the frame by pulling the ejector rod forward and
carefully swinging the cylinder into the frame. Release the ejector rod,
making sure the cylinder is locked in place.
HOW THE FIRING MECHANISM OPERATES
All revolver models manufactured by New England Firearms have a
built-in "transfer-bar" type mechanism and may be fired in either the
"single" or "double" action mode. When the hammer is in the fully forward
position and the trigger is released, there is no contact made between the
hammer and the firing pin. This is the normal carrying position.
When the hammer is manually pulled back fully into the cocked position
(single action), the transfer-bar moves upward to form a bridge between
the hammer and the firing pin. When the hammer is in the cocked position
and the trigger is pulled and held, the hammer faUs striking the transfer~
bar, transferring the hammer blow to the firing pin. As soon as the trigger
is released, the transfer-bar drops down causing a void between the
hammer and firing pin. Pulling the trigger with the hammer fully forward
(double action), cocks and releases the hammer automatically with the
transfer~bar acting in the same manner as when fired single action.
AMMUNITION TO USE
USE ONLY FACTORY
LOADED CARTRIDGES OF THE CORRECT
CALIBER IN YOUR REVOLVER.
In a revolver with the barrel marked:
22 L.R. Any 22 Long Rifle, 22 Long or 22 Short cartridges
may be used.
22 W.M.R.F. Use only 22 Win. Mag. Rimfire cartridges.
32 H&R MAG. -- 32 H&R Magnum, 32 S&W Long & 32 S&W cartridges

HOW TO LOAD AND UNLOAD
P>J..WAYS BE SURE THE MUZZLE IS POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION
Swing the cylinder
out of the frame
as described
In "BEFORE USING
YOUR
REVOLVER",and insert a cartridge of the
oorrect
caliber into each
chamber of the cylinder. Carefully return the cylinder into the frame,
making sure it is locked in position. The revolver is now ready to fire. BE
CAREFUL!
To unk>adthe revolver, swing the cylinder out of the frame and push the
ejector rod to the rear, collecting the cartridges in your hand.
Always handle live ammunition carefully to
prevent
accidental discharge.
FIRING THE REVOLVER
After loading
as previously described and keeping the muzzle pointed in
a safe direction, take
aim and fire the revolver using
either single or
double
action mode. If you should decide
not to
fire
after the revolver has
been
cocked in the single action mode. lower the
revolver
and carefully,
hold the hammer to the rear with
the
thumb
and pull the trigger. Slowly let
the hammer move forward and release the trigger when the hammer has
moved forward approximately 1/4". Practice this procedure with an
unk>aded gun until you are thoroughly familiar with this operation.
SIGHT ADJUSTMENTS
The point of bullet impact can be
moved
left
or right by turningthe
windage adjustment screw located on the right side of the rear sight.
Turn the screw clockwise
to move
impad to the left and oounter-
clockwise to move impact to the right. To move the point of impad up or
down, turn
the elevation adjustment screw located on the top of the rear
sight. Turn the screw dockwise
to lower the point
of impact and counter-
ck>ckwise to raise the point of impact. Each "click" of the adjustment
screws changes the point
of impact approximately3/4" at a rangeof 25
yards.
